The Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA) expects to be the next hosts of the annual Confederation of School Sports Association of Southern Africa (COSSASA) games come 2010.

The last COSSASA games were held in Maseru, Lesotho, early September this year.

Besides Botswana, other southern African countries are expected to take part in the COSSASA tournament, countries such as South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland. Zambia and Zimbabwe will also be expected to participate even though they have not been consistently in attendance. Botswana had sent a girls’ netball team, girls and boys volleyball team, boys’ and girls' basketball team, and a girls and boys football team.

The Under 17 ladies soccer team had done extremely well when they went up against Namibia and won by 2-6.They also won their match against Lesotho by 1-3.

Swaziland also fell victim to Batswana ladies when it was beaten 1-O by Botswana.

South Africa, however, managed to beat Botswana by 4-0. The other teams did well also but the ones that stood out were the soccer girls.

BISA recently announced that it will be having its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 20th November 2009 at Palapye. The AGM is expected to be held at Lotsane Senior Secondary School and about 240 of its members are expected to attend.

Still on the cards, on the 19th of November at 1800hrs, BISA will hold a come together session for residents, where it claims that food will be sold as a measure of raising funds for the Association.

During its expected 2-day-stay in Palapye, BISA will have a chance to contribute to society by donating clothes to identified orphanage groups. As a way of soliciting funds for the association, raffle tickets have also been prepared to be distributed after the AGM.

Amongst the prizes to be won in the raffle is a beast. The draw date is expected to be during the COSSASA Athletics tournament.
